how to prevent the exploding laptop batteries

In this medium, quite often we read cases of how a leaking battery can overheat and eventually cause a fire and should be withdrawn by the manufacturer. Fortunately, now comes a new technology that can prevent the Li-ion batteries are installed on a laptop or cell phone on fire or explode.

Name STOBA technology. The technology was developed by a research institute named Taiwan ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), and will likely be marketed in the first quarter of next year.

More technology prevent phone laptop battery explosion.

When Li-Ion battery shorting, the battery temperature will rise rapidly, which can reach 932 degrees Fahrenheit. This is why the battery is flammable or explosive. Stoba prevent fire or explosion by being positive and negative side of battery. If the battery temperature reaches 266 degrees Fahrenheit, Stoba changed from a porous material into a film and had to stop the reaction.

Currently the battery manufacturer is testing STOBA. Stoba expected to be present on the market in the first quarter of 2010. Use of Stoba also expected to cause an increase in manufacturing costs by 2-3 percent.

Super Aircraft Demonstration

Historically, vertical flight has required a compromise between hover performance and forward speed. If you look at efficiency vs. speed image on the right; the desired helicopter attributes (good hover efficiency, low speed controllability, low downwash, hover endurance) fall to the left of the plot. High disk loading aircraft such as Harriers and JSF, fall on the right of the plot: while fast, their hovering capabilities are limited, and their operational costs tend to increase due to the required power loading. Sikorsky is focused on creating an aircraft that operates to the right on this scale: providing more speed without compromising the essential attributes that make helicopters valuable.

The Sikorsky X2 TECHNOLOGY™ demonstrator aircraft will incorporate several new technologies and demonstrate them in a flight environment। These technologies include an integrated Fly-by-Wire system that allows the engine/rotor/propulsor system to operate efficiently, with full control of rotor rpm throughout the flight envelope, high lift-to-drag rigid blades, low drag hub fairings, and Active Vibration Control. In addition, the aircraft will be used as a 'flying wind tunnel' to determine the main rotor to propulsor aerodynamic interaction, shaft angle optimization for performance, and blade tip clearance for a range of maneuvers. This will allow optimization of the X2 TECHNOLOGY™ suite for future products.Sikorsky is well on its way in completing the design of the X2 TECHNOLOGY™ Demonstrator with important milestones right on the horizon. We are excited about what it means for Sikorsky, and most importantly, what it means for our customers - more options.

Android applications from NASA

FLORIDA - NASA unveiled a new application for Android that has a lot of content and enables users 'peek' atmosphere of outer space through streaming impressions.

Following the ending era of NASA's space shuttle Atlantis returned to Earth after, NASA also issued another technology shift on the phones. Some time ago the President of the United States, Barack Obama said that NASA needs to make new breakthroughs in the technology world.

"The plane has done some work to a remarkable experiment to the lowest orbit by making the International Space Station. It is a remarkable achievement. And we are very proud of the job, but now all we need is a new technological breakthrough," said Obama at that time.

Telegraph launched on Friday (22/07/2011), NASA has now released an official application on Android Market Wednesday. This application has features like live video from NASA TV streaming and some archives of the NASA mission.

Is expected users will be integrated with social media that will be made by NASA. Within this application there are also thousands of images, video on demand and an attractive countdown clock.

Even so, this application seems more targeted to people who know a lot about space exploration rather than lovers of technology. NASA insisted that this application is an opportunity to see the beauty of a space program for users not familiar with it, as well as a source of useful information if you are an interested in this subject.

NASA applications are already available for download for free at Android Market.

Android From Huawei

Although already one of the major players in the global telecommunications infrastructure industry, Huawei Technology is still considered a newcomer in telecommunications devices for the consumer market, in particular handset. A vendor based in Shenzhen, China is a new serious work on the mobile market since 2010.

As for the operating system, Huawei has been no plans to develop its own operating system as an alternative to the existing operating system. They chose to develop its product line with the Android operating system. What is the reason?

According to Martin Wezowski, Consumer Experience Design Center, Director of Huawei Device GUI Board, the prevailing trend of the future in industry is a handheld gadget that personalized, unique for each individual character of its users.

Martin argues, this time, the operating system Android is the operating system's most interesting because the user interface could still be further optimized.

In terms of applications, including devices that support LTE, Martin argues, there is no application would actually be a killer application or seed application. "There is a killer sets of applications, especially those related to social networking," he said.

To be sure, said Martin, in accordance with the trend of user needs, the entire application will depend on the speed of data transmission. And high-speed data transmission possible with LTE technology.

The Cold Jacket

This summer is not longer a threat to Japanese territory last March that a natural earthquake and tsunami. The reason, Hiroshi Ichigaya, a former technician at the same time corporate leaders Sony Electronics Kuchofuku Co. Ltd. in Japan, has presented a solution so that people can travel without worrying about overheating.

Hiroshi has produced a system that has a cooling jacket. As charged, Hiroshi presents two 4-inch diameter fan which is operated by AA batteries for several hours. In addition, added a USB cable that can connect to a computer to charge on the cooling system. Interestingly, all electronic material in the jacket can be removed when washed. The only weakness of the effect of a material that inflates the wind from the fan.

"It is true that this jacket makes you like the Michelin Man (a symbol of the French company Michelin)," said Hiroshi. "But this jacket can make the factory workers feel comfortable doing their job."

One of the workers who feel the benefits of this jacket is Ryo Igarashi (33). "I work in a very hot and should wear long-sleeved clothes so I stopped to buy this jacket to keep them cool and prevent heat stroke," said Ryo.

Hiroshi develops this jacket since many years ago. This idea was created when he tried to make the air conditioner can use a small electric power. "I believe if we do not need to cool the room but only made so that each person feels cold," said Hiroshi.

Currently, Hiroshi has been producing about 40,000 a jacket that sold for 11,000 yen. Recently, the Japanese government has ordered half a million pieces of jacket but Hiroshi denies the request. Because the company Kuchofuku not yet able to produce that much because the number of human resources is still minimal.

The camera captures more than one picture in One Frame

Observing the cat and squirrel jump looks like so common in everyday life. However this is an amazing change in a split second art.

Photographer Kim Taylor's use of animal lovers an unusual length of time to capture the motion of birds, insects and other animals. Using a special technique called locomotion photography, the images look amazing and have impressive detail.

Interestingly, this 78-year photographer equipment is specially-made equipment that is designed to perpetuate the subject in a split second and give effect to 'strobe' stunning on camera.

The combination of strobe lighting and fast moving subjects produce multiple images in one frame. Initially, the technique used legendary British photographer Eadweard Muybridge in 1870.

"I'm wearing homemade equipment. Need a high voltage (3500 volts) and capacitor are very heavy to store this energy. The results, fixtures with three flash heads which can be constantly 'blinks' and produced nine flash at various levels, ranging from two per second to 500 per second, "said the man.

Before becoming a photographer, he is a biologist at the Ministry of Overseas Development and the Ministry of Agriculture. Grandfather was claimed never to take formal photography class.

Android smartphones stagnant

According to recent reports Nielsen research institute, revealed that the growth in Smartphone sales, particularly in the U.S. market moves back up. But the movement was driven by iPhone sales, Apple's Smartphone.

In the survey, the share of new iPhone users increased to 17 percent compared with 10 percent in early 2011. Android-based Smartphone is stagnant at 27 percent.

Excerpted from Ars Technica, June 6, 2011, the figures show that Android is still dominating the Smartphone sales to users who buy Smartphone in the last three months. However, interest in the platform for a while it stopped growing.

As is known, before it had time to sluggish sales of the iPhone and Android skyrocketed. However, analysts expect, the iPhone launch by Verizon likely contribute to distorting the situation.

From the survey, note also that in the United States, sales of BlackBerry continue to decline. The numbers fell from 11 percent to 6 percent in recent months. Windows Phone also less popular. The percentage of sales is only about 1 percent.

However, the Smartphone itself has huge potential. Because of the Nielsen survey, 55 percent of recent phone buyers prefer a Smartphone than feature phones. The figure rose from just 34 percent last year.

Human touch the Planet Mercury

The plane's Messenger space agency NASA has successfully orbiting Mercury for the first time.

After performing a complicated maneuver to avoid the Sun's gravity, an unmanned spacecraft successfully entered the lane bernamatersebut orbit on Thursday night in Florida after traveling 4.9 billion miles, or approximately six and a half years from Earth.

This achievement at the same time as the fifth planet Mercury makes a successful touched by humans in our solar system.

Apparently, Mercury is not difficult to achieve. But, it must be remembered that it is a rocky planet and the most extreme temperature in the solar system. The range in surface temperature reaches 593 degrees Celsius. The temperature at the surface can reach 426 degrees Celsius at the closest distance to the Sun and reach -148 degrees Celsius at midnight.

Mercury is known to have extreme temperature shift from hot to cold. Somehow during the day is much longer than the nights each year. And strangely, although the planet closest to the sun, scientists discovered the existence of tons of ice in the dark crater.

Messenger is planned to enter Mercury's orbit and spin for a year. For all tasks, the satellites worth U.S. $ 446 million (Rp 3, 9 trillion), should be able to withstand the gravitational pull of the sun.

Mercury itself has a highly elliptical orbit. Range of distance to the sun about 29 million miles (47 million kilometers) to 43 million miles (69 million kilometers) for the longest distance. To note, Mercury orbits the sun every 88 Earth days.

The Latest Power Generation

Nano-technology developers have been able to make a device from nanostructures to generate electric currents, electromagnetic fields, even able to issue the order of subatomic radiation. Device / Nano-sized devices capable of generating electrical energy are referred to as Nano generator.
Georgia Institute of Technology, they are developing a prototype Nano generator that uses Nano yarn structure (nanowire) to generate electricity when the wire vibrates in Nano size. Nanowire on the prototype made of ZnO (zinc oxide), currents arising from the nanowire is as of the piezoelectric effect (the onset of electrical properties due to changes in mechanical energy of the material). The design of the Nano generator until now is still the object of research and still be in development stage. Scientists predict that Nanogenarator will be introduced to the public about the years 2010-2011.
Until now the majority of the portable electronic devices (e.g. watches, etc.), energy is still very dependent on the battery. Currently scientists are developing and demonstrating how an electronic device is easy and practical in its energy supply. This can be realized by the method of yarn developer’s technology Nano (nanowire) from cheap materials (ZnO) which can produce sufficient mechanical energy to be converted into electrical energy.

How electricity is produced from the Nano wire

Prof. Zhong Lin Wang of Georgia Tech illustrates that when we walk, then the electric power generated approximately by our body is 67 watts, we jari2 movement result 0.1 watt, 1 watt of our breathing. Well if we are able to convert a fraction of the power, then our bodies can be a source of energy for an electronic device. Conceptually continued Prof. Zhong Lin Wang, he was able to demonstrate power conversion is possible for a device reaches 17-30 percent of the total power generated by our bodies.
Results of research at the research group of Prof. Zhong Lin Wang can confirm a theory that: ZnO nanowire will show excellent piezoelectric effect, which produces the electrical properties of the response to mechanical stress. Usually negative and positive charge of zinc and oxygen ions in ZnO nanowire crystals cancels each other. But when the wire is chemically grown on the surface of the electrode, wire is bent due to external vibrations from the tip of the Nano-scale. The tip is a tip of atomic force microscopy (AFM) made of silicon (Si) coated with platinum (Pt). Bending of the ZnO nanowire lead to the occurrence of an electric dipole in a nanowire.
In the compressed negatively charged while the expansion positively charged. That is because the Zn2 + and the negative pole as a result of O-2. So with the metal contacts the semiconductor results in Schotcky rectification bridge the gap as in the positive and negative type semiconductor (pn junction). Contacts between the AFM tip with a positively charged pole is called the forward and reverse biased AFM tip with the negative pole is called reverse bias.

In the state of forward bias electrons will easily flow into the metal opposite the reverse bias electrons will have trouble. This phenomenon may be illustrated by the graph the relationship between voltage and current in the diode, whereas its transport mechanism can be easily illustrated by looking at the energy diagram between the metal and semiconductor. Figure 1 (a) and 1 (b) is a form of ZnO nanowire and the phenomenon of electric currents generated by contact metal and semiconductor.
